SEDATION DENTISTRY
Comfortable and Confident Dental Care
Why Choose Sedation?
Anxiety makes even simple cleanings stressful.
The stress of being in the chair for a long period of time is overwhelming.
Patients with cognitive challenges or gag reflex issues find dental procedures unbearable.
Choosing the Right Dental Sedation
Your comfort and experience is valued at Ideal Dentistry. We offer a variety of sleep dentistry options to help you achieve your Ideal Smile, no matter the circumstance. From mild “take the edge off” anxiety medication to deep sedation, Ideal Dentistry offers a relaxed experience.
If you are interested in sedation please let us know when you book your appointment.
Nitrous Oxide, also known as laughing gas, takes the edge off of your dental anxiety. This inhaled sedation is administered through a mask that is placed over your nose. The effects wear off quickly allowing you to drive after an office visit.
Oral Sedation uses anti-anxiety oral medication to induce a relaxed drifting state. Though you do not fall asleep during this type of sedation, you may feel drowsy. You are awake enough to follow simple instruction. This type of sedation has a linger effect and will require you to have someone available to drive you home after the appointment.
IV Sedation and General Anesthesia are recommended for patients with anxiety or cognitive challenges who are undergoing extensive dental repair. This is the only type of sedation that puts you completely asleep. You should arrange to have someone available to drive you home following the appointment.
